As a Senior Product Designer with 6+ years of product design experience, you will lead end-to-end initiatives from research and product discovery to solution design. You are an expert at understanding, synthesizing, and solving complex problems in a simple and intuitive way. Your curiosity doesn’t end with understanding our customers— you also care about understanding our business goals and needs. You value and appreciate strong internal collaboration with product managers, designers, engineers, data science, and lending operations.
Our customers span small business owners, lenders, and partners. You understand the value of listening deeply to each of them and empathizing with their pain points. You’re able to translate that empathy into delightful solutions that meet customer needs and also address our business goals. You deliver solutions that are elegant in both visual design and usability. You love participating in (and initiating) constructive critiques and collaboration sessions to ensure we’re focused on the right problems to solve and driving towards creating the best product experience in close partnership with product managers, engineers, data science, lending operations, and others.
You’ll be joining a team of 5, soon to be 7. (We’re also hiring a UX Researcher!) Lauren, the Head of Design, is passionate about our mission and is focused on creating a culture that is supportive, innovative, and focused on doing meaningful work that we can be proud of. Her professional background spans business, user experience, and coaching. These experiences have shaped her open, collaborative, and personal management style. She loves creating environments for talented people to do their best work while they grow personally and professionally.
You will:
Work with a smart and passionate group of people who are pushing the boundary on how to make capital more accessible to small businesses
Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define both the long-term strategy and the short-term tactics for our products
Mentor team members, engage and elevate our designs and customer experience
Focus on what you do best, while also taking the opportunity to grow and stretch into the skills you feel passionate about developing
About you:
6+ years professional experience in product design,?preferably for responsive web-based products
2+ (of the 6 years) in fintech or a comparable complex industry such as healthcare
Experience in a high-velocity agile environment, from ideation to?testing?
Mastery of Sketch and Invision or comparable prototyping tools
Ability to clearly communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale
Experience with design systems is desired, but not required
