Job Description

We’re looking for someone who combines technical knowhow with a passion for branding, design and ecommerce web development. You will need to adopt and build upon an established brand’s visual language and communicate your ideas. From mock-up to launched page, you will create and implement on-brand webpages that serve our marketing objectives including providing client value, reinforcing our place as the industry leader, and increased SE visibility. On top of direct programming in our proprietary backend, you will be asked to work within several additional platforms, including Adobe Commerce (Magento 2), MySQL, Javascript, Squarespace, Unbounce, and more.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Become a subject matter expert in Society Award’s ecommerce application
• Design, code, and launch polished webpages to fit an established brand
• Assist in determining the structure and design of webpages individually and how they fit into the larger site and marketing strategy
• Develop features that enhance user experience — think critically on how SEO best practices fit into an established luxury brand. We don’t fill our site with buttons, forms and CTAs. Instead, we carefully consider how to develop a luxury experience that informs, guides, and persuades the potential customer (the ‘soft sell’). Our business was built on and remains inextricably linked with the one-on-one client relationship, our digital presence must reflect this concierge-level experience.
• Stay current on Magento 2 web development techniques and recommend improvements in support of application development.
• Responsible for planning and executing site maintenance and upgrades
• Concerned with getting projects done well, not just done. This means recruiting help from internal teams when you aren’t sure. We are looking for someone who knows where they excel and is ready to get help when you need it.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — your role will have you interpreting the knowledge and input of several teams

Requirements

• Enterprise PHP – Development, Magento 2 experience. Candidates without Adobe Commerce/Magento 2 Experience will not be considered.
• Javascript / JSX, experience with React and NextJS preferred
• MySQL
• SCSS / CSS / LESS
• LEMP Stack
• Project management, time management, and organizational skills to prioritize work and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Attention to detail

• Ability to adopt and adapt a strong brand
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Office 365

What Makes You Great for This Role

• Minimum 3-4 years of professional programming and design experience
• Degree in computer science, graphic design or related fields with relevant experience (we’re looking for someone who balances technical ability with aesthetic point of view)
• Proficiency in web design languages — HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Strong experience in Adobe Creative Cloud apps (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Working knowledge of SEO best practices as they relate to user experience and web design
• Experience in adaptive web design — considering how your design will work across different devices
• Strong written communication skills
• Confident, curious and thrives in a complex fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working with clients, internal team, and third parties

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
