Position Summary:
The Government Affairs Specialist at South Jersey Industries will successfully execute strategies to develop beneficial relationships in support of corporate business and revenue priorities. This specialist will provide support for broad-based, front-line representation of SJI subsidiaries in state and local government affairs and community-based organizations. The Government Affairs Specialist will also be responsible for corporate charitable and civic contributions and sponsorships. This specialist reports to the Director of Government Affairs, and collaborates with Communications, Rates and Regulatory, Environmental, Marketing, Sales and Energy Efficiency teams, among others, to drive governmental initiatives in support of corporate strategic goals. Additionally, this specialist will engage with municipal- and county-level elected officials, local government staff, and identified community leaders as needed, in support of corporate priorities that enhance business development and revenue opportunities. This role is an exceptional opportunity for successful career progression in Government Affairs or External Affairs.
Location:
This position is managed as Hybrid with flexibility, and can sit out of either our Union, NJ (Northeast Jersey) or Folsom, NJ (South Jersey) office. This position will involve travel to the municipalities we serve (Southern New Jersey, Union County, NJ, and Northwest Jersey) as well as to Trenton, NJ.
