Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group in collaboration with its client, n association company, is searching for a professional and skilled Sr. Accountant. The accountant will be responsible for providing support to all accounting functions as well as special projects. They will also assist with developing and implementing accounting policies. Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly journal entries for billing, general ledger, oversight of transactions and audit responses
• Report financial performance to support monthly close, budgeting and forecasting efforts
• Conduct and provide periodic financial variance analysis and ad hoc financial reporting
• Conduct revenue recognition assurance and compliance with GAAP; record transactions and maintain accounting system and database
• Assist with implementation of new business, accounting, financial reporting processes & new GAAP processes
• Perform checks to ensure data integrity and to spot/correct inconsistencies in accounting work
• Recognize potential risks and errors, make recommendations to improve reporting environment and produce valuable results
• Reconcile financial data, examine primary variance drivers and compare results with plans and forecasts
• Support multiple projects, identify opportunities, and carry out ad hoc tasks

Qualifications/Background Profile:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required
• Active CPA License is a plus
• 10+ years of comprehensive accounting
• Extensive knowledge of U.S GAAP compliance regulations and requirements
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with large ERP systems, ideally PeopleSoft financials
• Detail and Process Oriented with the ability to multi-task and work on several projects together
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex reports, needs and documentations
• Solid communication skills with the ability to communicate with teams or present recommendations to increase the efficiency of the processes
