Lead Network Engineer position within a centralized IT team of a major financial firm, covering Hosting, Networks and End-User functions.
For this role we are looking for a mid to senior level engineer with personnel leadership, project management and technical proficiencies, experienced in providing effective and scalable solutions for enterprise network infrastructure.
Role collaborates with the global team, developing and implementing complex technology solutions that involve multiple platforms, software and hardware and processes.
Position is remote, with occasional travel to NYC.
Responsibilities:
Effectively communicate with stakeholders, leadership and team members, conveying project updates, opportunities and go-forward roadmaps and strategies.
Foster a positive and productive work environment.
Participate in the configuration, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure and services, including switches, routers, LAN/WAN architecture, firewalls, load balancers, Wi-Fi and VPN connectivity, dynamic routing protocols and low-latency design.
Expert-Level Routing and switching experience (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, Multicast), including LAN/WAN/Security/Architecture.
Experience with platforms including Cisco, Arista, F5, Checkpoint and Palo Alto.
Scripting experience in Python and ability to write code that interfaces with remote APIs and information services (e.g. REST, JSON, XML).
Experience working with network automation/orchestration and configuration management processes and tools, including Git, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines and NetBox Familiarity provisioning network connectivity with multiple cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, Equinix Cloud Exchange, Oracle, etc.
Understanding of data center fabric networks, such as VxLAN/EVPN/ OTV Deploy and stabilize code, technologies, services, networks, systems, and drive standardization and automation.
Provide subject matter expertise, resolve complex break/fix scenarios, engaging broader teams as necessary; partner with vendors, and regions to achieve continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
7+years of experience in Network Engineering, Infrastructure and Operations disciplines
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines Relevant certifications, including CCIE, CCNP, AWS are a plus
Deep understanding of the TCP/IP protocol Understanding of data communication, data processing, and telecommunications facilities
Excellent analytical, organizational, process improvement and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
