St Demetrios Preparatory School Hiring for Teacher, Primary Computer Technology Job at Astoria, NY Full Time

St. Demetrios Greek American School seeks the services of a teacher of computer technology for our primary building (Pre-K to Grade 3).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Computer Teacher

• Create lesson plans that are appropriate for the age and abilities of the students in the class. Student ages range from Pre-K to Grade 3.
• Works with Technology Director and Administration to develop curriculum for the classroom.
• Collaborates with grade teachers to facilitate special projects they may like their students to work on in the lab.
• Provides appropriate resources and learning materials for students.
• Maintains computer laboratories and keeps an inventory of supplies.
• Ensures that computer equipment is functioning properly.
• Stays up-to-date on changes and advancements in computer technology taught in the classroom.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must have knowledge of a wide range of computer programs, particularly the Google Suite.
• Experience with Schoology and Lego Robotics is not required but a plus. Staff training will be provided for those products.
• Must be comfortable learning new computer programs.
• Must have exceptional computer skills.
• Must have excellent trouble shooting skills.
• Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must have an understanding of computer hardware, software and networking.
• Must be detail oriented and mechanically inclined.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,000.00 – $45,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Astoria, NY: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
