JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for a wide range of support to the Human Resources Director/Superintendent while managing the evaluation system, application and hiring processes, substitute system, employee on-line safety training system and the licensure process. This position is also actively involved in union negotiations insuring that agreements, District policies and laws are followed in the process as well as all documentation and publication of the processes.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Proficient oral and written communications skills in English
Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications
Administrative Assistant experience
Knowledge of and experience with Human Resources laws, policies and regulations
Ability to work positively and cooperatively with others
Flexible and adaptable to changing activities and workloads.
Ability to take initiative, work independently and follow directions, both oral and written.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks.
Promote educational equity based on the principle that each student receives what is required for them to achieve success with regard to allocation of resources, opportunity, treatment and access.
Maintain required personnel records.
Enter and update employee information in the HR information system.
Prepare documents and correspondence.
Manage Human Resources systems and processes.
Coordinate the scheduling of meetings and appointments.
Assist with the hiring process.
Onboarding of new employees ensuring all federal, state and district requirements are compliant.
Perform public relations and liaison functions for the department.
Collaborate and work with outside agencies including but not limited to: Teacher Standard and Practices Commission, Oregon Department of Education, colleges and universities, public safety agencies and community organizations.
Perform staffing functions which may include enrollment projections, allocations, staffing assignments, change in status, issuing contracts and non-renewal notices, licensing, salary placements, processing retirements, resignations and leaves of absence.
Respond to inquiries and requests for information.
Provide positive leadership to all personnel.
Assist in the development, organization and production of state, district and school documents and reports.
Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment.
Budget tracking and processing for tuition reimbursement accounts.
