In this role you will be the HR Operations Manager which is multifunctional in scope. This role is responsible for Severance Administration, Execution of Mergers and Acquisitions and will lead the HR Operations PMO and POC leveraging project management and process improvement methodology to ensure our business processes support our business partners.
What You will be doing:
HR Operations PMO
Plan, direct and manage work activities of HR Operations PMO (Project Management Office), including prioritizing projects with the HR Leadership Team to ensure alignment with strategies and objectives.
Responsible for managing multiple projects at once related to HR Operations and across HR, ensuring projects are delivered on time and according to business requirements working with stakeholders at all levels.
Responsible for leading project teams using a structured process improvement methodology to drive coordination across HR functions to ensure programs are rolled out to the business in a timely, well-coordinated manner and the improvements are sustained over time.
Oversee Merger and Acquisition integrations into Staples systems and benefits.
Analyze and interpret data along with providing insights actions to drive meaningful results.
Identify the root cause of problems (vs. symptoms) and drive towards a solution despite ambiguity or uncertainty. Encourage new ways of looking at problems, processes, or solutions.
Proactively manages risk and dependencies with key stakeholders. Works with team to identify mitigation plans and options.
Communicate and present regularly with Sr Leadership on key project status updates, initiatives, proposals, and outcomes
HR Operations POC
Manages the HR Operations Point of Contact (POC) with Supply Chain HRBP’s, Talent Advisors and COEs to identify breakdowns in service delivery. Partners with appropriate functional areas to manage workstreams to resolve escalations and provide the business efficient processes and solutions.
Manages POC Specialists to solve complex HR Operations issues. Analyzes issues, to identify root cause, downstream impacts and ensures resolution or escalation. Use high judgment to make recommendations on complex or unique situations.
Severance Management:
Provide strategic direction and planning for all severance and activities for reductions in force or organizational restructures, working closely with HR Operations, Legal, HR Services and Payroll.
Manages supporting programs associated with Reductions in Force including outplacement and unemployment and associate sessions during RIFs.
Accountable for ensuring that all processes are executed timely and accurately.
Manage relationship and contract with Staples outplacement and career transition provider, monitoring conversion and working to improve affected associate experience and preserve-brand integrity.
Qualifications :
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:
7-10 years of HR or business related experience, preferably in HR Operations.
Self-starter who is customer focused, possessing solid project management, problem solving, and team building skills.
Strong business acumen with excellent understanding of the operations of Staples various Business Units and complex company structure.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence without authority and communicate with all levels of employees.
In depth knowledge of all areas of HR including HR Polices and HR Administration, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, HR Operations, HR Shared Services, HR Technology, Unemployment, Outplacement, Records Retention, Compliance with federal, state and local HR legislation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
What’s needed – Preferred Qualification
Process Excellence background using lean six sigma or other process improvement methodology.
Proven track record of successful collaboration with business partners to effectively enhance organizational effectiveness with the ability to effectively influence change cross functionally (inside and outside of HR)

Anticipated salary: $100K
