The Human Resources & Payroll Manager is responsible for any planning regarding the human resources and development of a company’s workforce and will oversee and supervise the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Duties/Responsibilities:
Ensuring employees follow all policies and procedures and that employee files are compliant and follow all local and national labor laws.
Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff for the organization
Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
Supervising all HR activities, communications, reports, requests and documents created and received by the team.
Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
Identifies and recommends updates to payroll and HR processing software, systems, and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
Strong computer skills and experience with office management and communication software
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Expert in labor laws set by governing authorities and organizations
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Time management and organizational skills
Excellent leadership, training and developmental skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficient with payroll software.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required.
Minimum 2 years experience in payroll and 2 years experience HR
Three to five years of related experience required.
Hospitality or Food & Beverage background preferred.
