The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is dedicated to promoting health, safety, resilience, and opportunity for Maine people. The Department provides health and social services to approximately a third of the State’s population, including children, families, older Mainers, and individuals with disabilities, mental illness, and substance use disorders. The Department also promotes public health, operates two state psychiatric hospitals, and provides oversight to health care providers.
Core Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Workforce Development Unit of the Division of Licensing and Certification including within the “Maine Registry of Certified Nursing Assistants and Direct Care Workers”. Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to processing applications for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Certified Residential Medication Aides (CRMAs), and Personal Support Specialists (PSS). This includes ensuring that all regulatory requirements of the applications have been met and completed, issuing certificates, and updating databases.
You will also:
Answer and respond to phone calls as well as emails related to CNA, CRMA, and PSS certifications.
Be expected to develop a basic understanding of applicable rules and statute.
Work with other Office Associate II positions to ensure that Workforce Development responsibilities are covered during staff leave
Assist with other Division administrative duties as requested, including but not limited to mail sorting and distribution, and cash management
Minimum Qualifications:
Training, education or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates 1) competency in applying a sold knowledge of modern office practices to perform complex, varied office support tasks and 2) the ability to use independent decision making on the appropriate processes to follow, information to process and actions to take in accordance with standard procedures. All positions in this classification assume the qualifications of: Office Assistant I, Office Assistant II, and Office Associate I.
