Main Purpose of Job
The Office Secretary III is to provide administrative support in various areas of the Intake Unit which includes receiving incoming telephone calls, relaying messages, redirecting calls and receiving visitors. Duties also include maintaining agency logs, data entry, filing and performing word processing duties.
This position functions as both a receptionist and Office Secretary for the Intake Unit. Responsibilities include answering phones and greeting visitors; handling inquiries related to discrimination complaints; maintain MCCR’s filing system of closed, aborted, and dual filed records in accordance with office procedures; opening and distributing mail, scheduling intake interview appointments and maintaining the appointment calendar for intake staff; composing correspondence; and other general work assignments requested by the Intake Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years performing secretarial or clerical work involving typing duties.

Special Requirements
Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a keyboard of a personal computer at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position.
