This position assists the Child Development and Care Administrator with the planning, design, development, and overall implementation of the Child Development and Care Program (CDC). Assists the Administrator in providing leadership, direction, as well as planning for the CDC program in the Michigan Department of Education. This position works collaboratively with external partners including but not limited to DHHS, LARA, OIG and ECIC to problem solve and create processes that meet the needs of CDC customers. This position will oversee and direct policy, professional development, license exempt provider enrollment, provider criminal history processes, billing issue inquiries, and customer services areas of the Child Development and Care Program. Supports the Manager and Supervisor to ensure work is assigned, monitored for progress, and evaluated for accuracy. With assistance of the direct report management/supervision this position will include monitoring for ongoing training and professional development of staff under the direction of the State Administrative Manager. This position will ensure that policy, procedures, and best practices are in place to assist staff in completing their day-to-day tasks.
Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major.
Experience
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
Alternate Education and Experience
Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
