Hourly Rate: $11.15 – $11.22
Qualifications:
Knowledge of laundry chemicals, their usage, and reactions in regard to water temperatures and laundering
Ability to work long hours while standing, and under conditions of high temperatures and humidity
Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to laundry equipment
1-2 years of work experience
Physical Requirements:
Walking, balancing, finger dexterity, pulling, pushing, standing, climbing, grasping, stooping, crouching, crawling, kneeling, reaching, bending, lifting, supporting, repetitive motion, frequent washing of hands
Essential sensory and communicative activities include: feeling, seeing speaking, hearing, smelling and tasting
Job Description Summary:
Keep laundry area clean and in working condition including the cleaning of equipment and lint traps
Push laundry carts to units and pick up soiled clothing and linens. Check and remove items from clothing (coins, money, tissues, etc) and notify supervisor. Lift bundles of soiled linens/clothing from bins. Weigh soiled laundry. Open bundles of soiled linens/clothing. Sort laundry
Load and unload washers/dryers
Wash linens/personal clothing using proper chemicals. Dry linens/personal clothing. Bend and remove lint from the dryer and/or clean linen traps frequently throughout the day
Fold and stack linens. Fold/hang personal clothing, ensuring they are clean and wrinkle free
Push laundry carts to distribute linens and personal clothing throughout the facility and collect hangers
Follow proper procedures when handling hazardous chemicals
Work closely with nursing staff when providing services in resident areas
Work in a wide range of temperatures
Adhere to infection control procedures as trained
Other duties as assigned
