Examples of Work
Under general supervision, performs technical support activities in talent acquisition of our civilian employees. Provide support to the NE State Patrol (NSP) and its managers, supervisors, teammates, and to applicants seeking employment with our agency. Perform talent acquisition functions including posting jobs, reviewing applications and maintaining information in our applicant tracking system.
Schedule interviews with applicants to obtain information about their educational and employment background to determine the qualifications relative to the job. Examine applications, documents and/or transactions pertinent to employment to check for accuracy and appropriateness of teammate information, and/or proper signatures in accordance with established rules, regulations, and procedures.
Complete various administrative tasks in support of the HR team, such as E-Verify, Veteran’s Preference verification, paperwork coordination and database entry. Complete and file personnel records, position, and application documents to ensure the security, storage, and retrieval of information pertinent to personnel transactions. Other duties as assigned by HR management. *This position is listed as full-time, however a PART-TIME position (32 hours) would be considered, if applicant so chooses*
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: One year of coursework or training in personnel management, business administration, public administration or office/administrative or two years of related experience.
PREFERRED: One year of experience working in a Human Resource position is strongly preferred. Two years’ experience working with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong customer service background is a plus. Attention to detail is extremely important.

Applicant must successfully complete an extensive background screening prior to being employed, which includes completion of a Personal History Questionnaire. Selection process will include an interview.

Knowledge of: personnel practices, procedures, and terminology; the goals and requirements of record maintenance and confidentiality; federal personnel/employment laws; standard personnel practices, forms, and requirements.
Ability to: maintain a high level of confidentiality; work independently as well as in a team environment; prioritize work and handle numerous tasks with ease and accuracy; communicate in person, and by telephone, email, and correspondence, with the supervisor and other agency teammates to exchange information and explain processes and guidelines; operate office equipment; and have excellent proofreading skills.
