Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.
The Human Resource Supervisor position will provide HR oversight, training and direction to management and human resource staff in the areas of human resources and roster management in order to remain in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, procedures and state and federal laws.
1) Review personnel actions for policy adherence and accuracy
2) Provide comprehensive advice and assistance to staff and management regarding compensation, classification actions and personnel programs while ensuring compliance with rules, CBA, state and federal laws, and department policies
3) Prepare bi-weekly required reports as required by Central Office HR and facility management
4) Provide supervision and training and performance evaluations to subordinate staff to ensure all deadlines are met and to ensure compliance with set directives
5) Process disciplines in accordance with NMCD policy, CBA and SPO guidelines under the direction of NMCD Labor Relations
6) Assist in regular budget review and ACA compliance as it pertains to Human Resources
7) Manage and track grievances to ensure that grievance responses are submitted by set deadlines
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:
PeopleSoft experience, payroll experience, supervisory experience and experience writing disciplines.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Public Administration and two (2) years of experience in human resource operations; recruitment, selection, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, training, labor relations, investigations and/or occupational analysis. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License. Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results.
Executive Order 2021-066 requires all employees with the State of New Mexico to provide either proof of COVID-19 vaccination (including proof of a booster dose of vaccine by January 17, 2022, or within four weeks of becoming eligible for a booster dose) or proof of a COVID-19 viral test every week.
The Public Health Order (on Vaccination) dated December 2, 2021, requires Congregate Care Facility Workers and Hospital Workers to have received a primary series of vaccination by October 6, 2021, and a booster dose of vaccine by January 17, 2022, or within four weeks of becoming eligible for a booster.

Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with inmates. Willingness to work in a correctional facility, may be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
