A Bachelor’s degree and professional experience in human services or social services programs.
Additional Requirements
Considerable knowledge of the ability to work with older adults with disabilities. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public.
Ability to perform duties under limited supervision. Supervisor is available on a routine basis by telephone or e-mail.
Employee will be responsible for meeting all designated productivity standards in a quality manner with minimal supervision. Travel may be required and occasional overnight stays may be required. May be required to lift, pull, push, or carry up to 25lbs.
Employee must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, consumers, and the public. Under limited supervision, employee performs work independently and maintains the principals, practices and policies of the SC Commission for the Blind.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in blind rehabilitation and/or aging services is highly desirable but not required.
