We are currently seeking a highly motivated Jr. Industrial/Product Designer in our Home Office. As a member of our team, you will be designing the next generation of Storage and Houseware products sold at retail. You could even see your designs on the shelf at a national retailer in your first year at Sterilite. A strong candidate is someone who is a prolific “idea person” with a feel for form and function along with strong conceptual sketching and rendering skills. Additionally you will need to have drive and curiosity to discover the best possible solution for every project. Working within the design team, the ability to spot trends and convert those ideas into new product concepts will be considered a plus. This is an outstanding opportunity for an industrial designer with 0-1 years of experience to work for the leading manufacturer of plastic storage and houseware products sold at retail today.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design
0-1 years of experience
A working knowledge of ProE, Sketch Book Pro, and Keyshot with strong 3D modeling and rendering abilities.
Proficiency with PhotoShop and Illustrator
Ability to communicate design ideas through sketching
Ability to understand the scope of a project and create ideas/solutions to solve a problem
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines with excellent organization and time management skills
Strong attention to detail
Able to communicate effectively both verbally and written
Ability to work well within a group; a team player
Concentration in consumer product design is desired
An understanding of plastic molding methods and manufacturing processes a plus
