Logistics Specialist

They have recently purchased Suave brand in North America from Unilever and have retained us to find a Logistics Specialist to join the new team at Suave Brands Co.
Suave is a leading personal care brand that sells products across hair care, body care, and anti-perspirant/ deodorant. Position Summary
The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for the logistics support of our 3PL (third party logistics) transportation partner. This role will focus on key areas of safety, service, and cost to ensure an efficient operation to drive expected results for our customers and Suave brand. This role will be based in Hackensack, NJ.
Primary Responsibilities Include the Following:
- Daily managing and monitoring of the transportation flow of goods and services from suppliers and warehouse operations to customers with our 3PL (third party logistics) transportation partner
- Develop and implement with our 3PL transportation partner, logistics plans and processes for continuous improvement to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods and services through the network
- Monitor and report on logistics metrics, such as on-time pick-up and delivery, timely carrier status updates, and cost savings
- Manage carrier claims, and customer returns and fines and penalties processes with our 3PL partner
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve issues
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers for expanded opportunities and problem resolution
Primary Requirements Include the Following:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, or business-related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a logistics related role with a minimum of 2 years working in coordination with a 3PL (third party logistics company).
- Experience in the consumer goods industry is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external suppliers.
- Ability to stay current with industry trends and best practices in supply chain.
- Ability to Travel 10%.
