Job purpose
The HR Business Partner is responsible for:
Aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units
Consulting with management on HR issues
Communicating needs proactively with HR and management, integrating solutions across the organization
Creating partnerships across the organization to deliver value-added service to everyone that reflects the business objectives of the organization
Duties and responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities of a HR Business Partner are:
Conducting weekly meetings with respective business units
Consulting with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate
Analyzing trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies
Managing and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
Maintaining in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required
Providing day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
Engaging management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
Providing HR policy guidance and interpretation
Providing guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
Identifying training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs
Participating in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follows-up to ensure training objectives are met
To emphasize the importance of understanding and adhering to confidentiality relating to interdepartmental discussions/decisions
Participate in and provide guidance for special projects and HR initiatives such as employee engagement, compensation
Qualifications
A candidate’s qualifications will include:
Three to five years experience working as a HR Generalist, Specialist or Business Partner
Undergraduate degree in Business, Psychology, Human Resources, or similar field required
Pays high attention to details
Must exhibit initiative and passion for outstanding results
Flexible and adaptable nature to work in a continuously evolving environment
Must be a team player and provide superior customer support.
Strong understanding of HR theory, application, U.S. and state laws
Experience using MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with an HRMS a plus
Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including strong written and verbal communication skills
Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in leading a change management effort a plus
