AR, OK, MO, TX, TN, LA, AL, KS, MN, FL, SC, MA, ME, NJ or UT.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources (HR) Analyst will have primary focus on the compensation program but will also develop and/or manage programs that have an impact across the entire employee life cycle. Beyond compensation, the person in this role will collect, compile, and analyze HR data, metrics, and statistics, and apply this data to make recommendations related to recruitment, retention, and legal compliance. The person in this position will also play a critical role in the development and management of programs such as training & development, talent management, performance management, and HRIS.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
Evaluates and implements job analysis instruments and materials.
Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
Prepares and maintains job classifications and salary scales.
Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
Conducts data and cost analyses to be used in employee negotiations and collective bargaining agreements.
Plans and communicates preferred methods and best practices impacting hiring, training, compensating, and evaluating employees.
Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, compensation policies, human resource procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.
Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, competitors’ practices, and other sources.
Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior HR leadership.
Identifies and recommends reasonable short- and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics.
Facilitates and/or manages implementation of new training, development, recruiting, and other related initiatives.
May guide, assist and/or manage training/development, performance, talent management, and compensation review and evaluation processes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or related field required.
One to three years of experience as a compensation analyst required.
Experience in other areas of HR such as job classification, recruitment, selection, training, employee benefits, and/or HR compliance preferred.
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS, payroll, and similar employee management software.
Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resource management, dynamics of employee development and professional growth, and training program design and presentation.
Process improvement focused.
Working knowledge of local, state, and federal laws involving employment, HR, and HR policies.
Ability to compose and present comprehensive reports.
Able to take initiative, to reason and exercise independent judgment and discretion in dealing with a variety of individuals and situations.
Detail oriented and demonstrates analytical and organizational skills.
Able to quickly and independently manage competing tasks and changing priorities and deadlines.
Excellent communicator with the ability to develop strong relationships with all levels of employees to effectively introduce and drive program success.
Maintains accurate records database(s) to ensure timely response for various internal/external data requests.
Able to handle sensitive and confidential information, work effectively under pressure, and practice efficient time management.
High level of proficiency and experience in software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Able to travel out of town, occasionally overnight, for meetings, audits, conferences, etc.
