Position Summary:
The Truck Driver drives a truck to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between various types of establishments such as: Manufacturing plants, freight depots, warehouses, wholesale and retail establishments, or between retail establishments and customers’ houses or places of business. This driver may also load or unload truck with or without helpers, make minor mechanical repairs, and keep truck in good working order. Truck Driver operates a Straight truck, over 4 tons, usually 10 wheels.
Major Job Activities:
Operates cargo vehicles as directed by the supervisor, delivering materials, merchandise, and equipment between various types of establishments such as warehouses and maintenance shops.
Loads and unloads conveyances with or without helpers, and moves freight by forklift, handcart, or other manual equipment.
Inventories all outbound freight versus AMS Manifest prior to wrapping and loading.
Conforms to all installation and State rules and regulations and ensures that seatbelts are worn in vehicles so equipped.
Maintains mileage and tonnage records as input to weekly and monthly activity reports.
Performs preventive maintenance in accordance with vehicle requirements and established procedures.
Performs warehouse specialist duties as needed or directed by the supervisor.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Must be knowledgeable of local and Fort Carson driving laws and safety rules.
Experience: Must have two years’ experience in operating a tractor-trailer (Class A). Must have or be able to obtain a forklift license. Valid Colorado CDL License required.

Pay Rate: $23.16 per hour, plus applicable Health & Welfare fringe dollars as defined under the DOL’s Wage Determination.

Paid Leave: Vacation, holiday and Sick Leave offered will be as defined under the DOL’s Wage Determination.
