The successful candidate will:Maintain payroll and time and attendance information by collecting, calculating, and entering data into various systems, as appropriateUpdate payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, job title and department/division transfers, or other information as needed.Prepare reports by compiling summaries of information such as earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages, etc.Determine payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employers social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments and other such liabilities, as necessary.Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and implementing changes.Provide payroll information and training to supervisors, employees, and other approved personnel.Support payroll operations by following policies and procedures; report problems and ensure necessary corrections are made to ensure the accuracy of payroll transactions.Interact with Audit and Control, SUNY Central, and Civil Service managers to address payroll issues.Process overpayments, and interact with Assistant Attorney General in processing affidavit for final judgment.Be responsible for check processing and distribution.Required Qualifications:Associate’s Degree.2+ years of experience in payroll or related field, preferably in a healthcare environment.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s DegreeWork Schedule:Monday to Friday; 9:00am to 5:00pmSalary Grade/Rank:SL-2S alary Range:Commensurate with experience and qualificationsE xecutive Order:Pursuant to Executive Order 161, no State entity, as defined by the Executive Order, is permitted to ask, or mandate, in any form, that an applicant for employment provide his or her current compensation, or any prior compensation history, until such time as the applicant is extended a conditional offer of employment with compensation.
