Sutro Biopharma, Inc. is seeking a driven and talented individual to join our Human Resources team as we change the future of oncology. While collaborating with cross-functional departments, you will play a key role in maximizing our technology and progressing our novel therapeutics. Sutro is looking for a customer-oriented individual who can work autonomously, take initiative, anticipate needs and demonstrate excellent follow through with accuracy. The candidate must be a team player, be able to successfully manage complex deliverables and be skilled in managing multiple priorities. As a member of the HR team, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to work with confidential and sensitive information and exhibit a high degree of discretion. You will be a key participant in the following HR activities.

• As an HR team member, participate in full-cycle HR activities to include recruiting, onboarding new employees, employee development and employee exits
• Manage employee data and compensation leveraging Sutro’s HRIS systems and processes
• Facilitate HR-related filings and compliance
• Collaborate with HR team members, brokers and carriers on company benefits
• Manage and guide employees on HR initiatives and programs that support Sutro’s Core Operating Principles, employee performance, learning and development and collaborative culture
• Champion justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in the company’s people processes

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Resources related field is preferred, PHR or SHRM certification a plus
• Knowledge of California and Federal employment law
• Strong technical skills including Excel, HRIS systems, compensation and benefits tools. ADP experience preferred and Radford experience is a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to build trust with employees, and operate with a high level of empathy, integrity and discretion
• Ability to work both tactically and strategically, and shift gears when necessary
• Possess a collaborative, enthusiastic, proactive and adaptable nature
