Job Summary
Understands shipboard C4I installations, can coordinate diverse with the ability to work with minimum supervision and be a team player. Requires strong communication and verbal skills for communicating with ship forces, vendors, and peers. Works under pressure, multi tasks and works in fast paced environment. Monitors and reports on NWIC LHA C4ISR shipboard installations such as CANES, NAVSSI, NMT, ADNS, NAVMACS, and COMSEC equipment onboard US Navy ships at public and private shipyards. Adjudicates and conflicts issues on the spot between installation activities and host shipyard production efforts. Provides situation reports with POAMs to meet installation milestones. Exports MS Project intro Excel.
Telework is not supported. Travel is not required.
Responsibilities And Duties
Supports NIWC LANT Surface Ship Integration Division, the Onsite Representative (OSR) coordinates with Ships Force, Commanding Officers, NIWC LANT AIT Managers providing installation management oversight of shipyard and other installation contractors and tradesmen. Coordinates with all parties to de-conflict installation issues and coordinate requirements. Resolves issues in advance that may slow production and affect meeting milestones. Attends Production Meetings, develops and maintains installation POA&Ms. Provides support and oversite to keep the installation contractor on schedule and provides SITREPS to higher authority. Reviews installation drawing packages, Statements of Work, identifies critical path and makes recommendations for efficient execution. Provides verbal and written reports (SITREPS) to higher authority on the status and progress of all shipboard installations and milestones.
Qualifications And Skills
Required knowledge and years of experience
Must have at least eight (8) years of working with C4ISR systems as they are installed on US Navy ship. Must have the skill set to develop and maintain projects in MS Project, additionally be able to export MS Project into Excel.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma. US Navy C4ISR background preferred. Must have experience running/managing C4I installs.
Certifications
OSHA 10 HR maritime. VSRA safety certification required. Candidate will be given reasonable time to re-certify if these certs have expired at time of hire. Certifications as a shipyard competent person, electrical connector fabrication, fiber optic fabrication, a plus.
