SUMMARY
Provide leadership and focus to advance the company’s vision. Develop and implement programs that enhance and best utilize the human resources while meeting all legal requirements and complying with regulatory agencies as applies by performing the following duties personally or through department personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees and assists with all duties of a Human Resources Generalist as required.Writes job descriptions, reviews and edits job descriptions written by others.Process weekly payroll information. Ensure all employee data is accurate and maintained.Conducts new hire orientation and initiates new hire training programs as necessary.Develops and implements special projects concerning employee information and development as assigned. Recommends areas of improvement, suggests alternative methods and procedures to facilitate problem solving.Council and coach with supervision on performance reviews, discipline, career path goals.Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.Benefits administration to include change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program.Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1; Vets 100 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements; screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; on boarding materials; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews.Coordinate wellness committee and wellness programs Establish and maintain department records and reports. Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services
performed.Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.Safety Oversee and develop company safety programs.Lead efforts in safety regulatory compliance Investigate incidents, monitor medical care for return to work Assist in conducting (leading) safety inspections, meetings, and training programs.Monitors return to work protocol: develop jobs, communicate with physician/doctor, etc.Complete and maintain all paperwork with regards to work-related incidents.
Prepare legal notices, postings, and reports as required by government and regulatory bodies.Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) from a four-year college or university in human resources; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS Demonstrate intermediate to advanced level proficiency in MS Office, Paychex, and job-related computer software.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
