Williamsburg Landing Hiring for Compensation & Benefits Specialist at Williamsburg, Virginia Full Time

Williamsburg Landing, a CARF-accredited Life Plan Community, seeks a full-time Compensation & Benefits Specialist to join our Talent Management team. This position, under the supervision of the Chief Talent Officer, supports our organization in the areas of salary and benefits administration, and HRIS analytics.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Completes bi-weekly pay related adjustments to include compensation increases and benefit enrollments; distributes payroll related memorandums to employees in a timely manner
• Processes required paperwork for employee transfers, changes in job classification, salary increases, and other related employment matters
• Maintains a thorough understanding of health plan benefits and coverage offerings, deductibles, employer contributions, and employee premiums
• Processes employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations for employees in the HRIS
• Maintains the performance review module in the HRIS to ensure evaluators complete 90-day and annual performance reviews and Stay Interviews in a timely manner
• Establishes new benefit plans in the HRIS each renewal year and coordinates annual benefit enrollment meetings in consultation with insurance broker and third party vendors
• Maintains understanding of all employee benefits and organizational policies and properly responds to employee inquiries
• Maintains online employee training records in Relias, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory training requirements
• Responds to employment verifications requesting wage information
• Provides current employee lists for Senior Executive Assistant to the President/CEO each pay period for birthday and anniversary recognition cards
• Assists with employee functions including New Employee Orientation, annual Service Award recognitions, and employee holiday events as needed
• Cross trains and serves as the backup for the Talent Management Coordinator
• Maintains complete and accurate personnel and medical files for employees; ensures that files are always survey-ready
• Responds to day to day employee concerns, working closely with the Chief Talent Officer to ensure that employee relations issues are addressed in a timely manner
• Prepares correspondence and processes mail; copies, mails, files, scans, and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions. Compiles, distributes, and files necessary reports accurately; produces required statistical reports for the department.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree is preferred
• Five (5) years or more of progressively responsible relevant work experience is required
• Intermediate experience in human resource software and reporting functions (HRIS) is preferred
• Knowledge of general office clerical procedures
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing using proper grammar and spelling
• Strong computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
• Ability to maintain professional working relationships with staff, community, and regulatory officials
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills with the ability to maintain high performance and composure under pressure
• Ability to regularly exercise sound judgment
