Position – Director of ECE Competence and Practice

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement strategies to disseminate learnings throughout the broader ECE community in collaboration with the VP, Credentialing and Programs.
• Generate innovative ideas, concepts, and solutions in response to field needs and requests related to utilizing the Competency Standards and Essentials for Working with Young Children.
• Develop competency based professional development activities for individuals and organizations, including: curating and disseminating best practices for the use of the . Providing facilitation for a variety of early childhood stakeholders.
• Serve as a leader and mentor to internal teams to help build employee ECE content knowledge, expertise, and awareness of our position in the field of Early Childhood, including: Supporting the onboarding of new employees in all aspects of our content
• Building a program of continuous content learning for customer facing teams and those developing products for the field.
• Set guidelines, oversee content creation, review, organization, and quality control for early childhood learning and knowledge.
• Collaborate with the VP/Program Directors and other departments to foster communities of practice that integrate emerging practices and evaluate program impact.
• ∙Design and execute certification and monitoring protocols for Training Organizations in accordance with Competency Standards and adult learning best practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adheres to Council Policies and Procedures.
• Learn and sustain knowledge of all Council programs and services.
• Provide excellent customer service to all Council stakeholders.
• Work with and across departments to develop and maintain a collaborative team relationship.
• Establish an annual professional development plan with goals that are monitored on a quarterly basis.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Other duties as assigned.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS & REQUIREMENTS

• Master’s degree in early childhood education (ECE) or a very closely related field with intensive ECE study demonstrated in transcripts preferred.
• 8 to 10 years of work experience.
• Strong ECE leadership experiential background.
• Deep knowledge of Child Development Associate required.
• Experience conducting adult learning training sessions required.
• Expert presentation skills both in person and virtually.
• Project management experience leading multi-disciplinary program teams through the various phases of product development and operations management.
• Demonstrated ability to review and interpret routine data metrics and conduct a thorough analysis, drawing appropriate conclusions.
• Experienced in the nonprofit sector.
• Proven ability to develop long-term relationships and a demonstrated personal network of industry and government contacts; ability to expand the network into additional agencies and companies.
• Strong open and collaborative work style.
• Strong communications skills, including the ability to confidently brief corporate capabilities and make formal presentations to customers and internal senior decision- making.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to work in a complex multi-tasking environment.
• Ability to travel, including occasional overnight stays.

Sporadically, could be responsible to move, raise, reach, and/or retrieve binders, boxes, cases,

and/or files weighing as much as 25 lbs. (Assistance may not always be available.)
