We are looking to employ a part-time (c.25 hrs/week) HR Generalist to provide general HR and HR administration support to the US region of the organization.
Reporting the People/HR Operations & Talent Acquisition partner, who is based in the UK, we are looking for a hands-on, passionate individual who thrives in a fast-paced changing environment and shares our passion for creating inclusive, equitable cultures in organizations.
The HR Generalist will provide day-day HR support for the US region and will display a solid understanding of employee relationships, staffing management, and payroll and benefits administration. Top candidates will be superb at problem-solving and comfortable working in a remote capacity supporting a remote workforce. They should be adaptable to changing needs of the business, have strong collaboration skills and a certain level of resilience to manage multiple priorities at a given time.
This individual will be a motivated self-starter who is excited about improving HR processes and efficiencies. Excellent verbal and written communications skills and efficient time management and organization to be able to manage multiple projects will be essential.
Role & Responsibilities
As the HR Generalist you will work closely with the UK People/HR Operations and Talent Acquisition Partner to ensure our employees have a centralized, professional and efficient HR service.
Responsibilities of the HR Generalist include the following:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Handle day-to-day operations of HR functions and duties
· Compile and update employee records
· Generate official internal personnel documents
· Help coordinate HR projects
· Develop and oversee US new hire advertising, selection, orientation, onboarding efforts and employee termination process
· Coordinate HR and professional development trainings
· Respond to employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
· Day to day management of the organization’s PEO platform, to include payroll
· Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices with support from the PEO
· Help maintain cross-state compliance requirements
· Provide ad hoc support to team members as required

The Ideal Candidate
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
· Ideally BSc/BA in HR specialty and/or PHR/SHRM certification
· 2 plus years of experience as an HR Generalist
· Experience working in a virtual company or work from home arrangement
· Experience working in a start-up, small business, high-growth environment preferred
· HR Experience in a consulting firm or B-to-B company preferred
· Culture and organizational change expertise preferred
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
· Exposure to labor law and employment equity regulations
· Effective HR administration and people management skills
· Exposure to payroll practices
· Full understanding of HR functions and best practices
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Resilient and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with constant change and multiple projects
· Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, related business, and communication tools
· Fantastic organizational and time management skills
· Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
· Meticulous attention to detail
· Ability to accurately follow instructions.
· Proactive, intuitive, independent thinker
