Location/Other:
Tallgrass has a flexible working environment that offers employees the option to choose from compressed weeks with half-day Fridays or every other Friday off and Hybrid options for specific roles. Our spacious Lakewood, CO office offers free parking, an on-site gym, and food trucks twice a month! We currently can hire for this position out of the following locations: Lakewood, CO, and nearby areas. The pay range listed for this position is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.
Primary purpose:
Responsible for leading the Company’s overall nationwide and global efforts pertaining to training and development, recruitment, and branding strategies for a growing multi-state, 850+ team member organization. Partner with company leaders to ensure they have the resources to develop and maintain inclusive high-performing teams.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition:
Directs, plans, and develops strategies and processes to attract, proactively build, and maintain a quality talent pipeline and fill open positions by sourcing passive and active candidates. Identifies current and future workforce needs.
Oversees and manages all talent acquisition and training & development administration, support, policies, and procedures.
Evaluates key metrics to recommend appropriate recruitment strategies and sustainability initiatives.
Leads with an agile mindset, focusing on creative solutions in a growth, fast changing environment.
Partners with leaders and hiring teams across the business to understand their hiring needs and help them to source, screen and secure the talent their teams need to be successful.
Leads and supports the HR Team with the College Relations Task Force including internship programs, job shadowing, career fairs, student field trips and classroom presentations.
Leads and supports the HR Team working with PR/Communications regarding social media and sourcing tools to create and maintain a candidate pipeline.
Ensures compliance is followed for all recruitment, application and hiring per state and federal laws.
Continuously monitoring and identifying improvements.
Training & Development:
Leads and directs the creation of a leadership development strategy and programs that align with strategic business imperatives and develop management capabilities throughout the workforce.
Identifies, designs, and develops frameworks that represent skills and leadership capabilities critical to long-term and short-term objectives.
Aligns training, coaching, professional development, and experiential assignments to the leadership development strategy.
Develops approaches to engage individuals in well-defined and ongoing career development. Defines career paths and supporting training and development programs.
Fosters a culture of informal knowledge exchange, coaching, and training to engage and develop the workforce.
Conducts periodic succession planning and talent assessments to ensure critical roles are defined. Creates slates of individuals identified for leadership development activities.
Promotes positive changes in the overall mindset of the employees.
Oversees the company’s learning management system (LMS); including selecting content and extensive use of LMS for scheduling, enrollment processes and completions, and report generation.
Maintains strict confidentiality with regards to coaching sessions; however, must disclose certain confidential information as required by law of if the confidential information may put the employee or others at risk of harm or compromise their well-being.
Oversees implementation of job-related policies, processes, training, initiatives, and employee surveys.
Leads, develops, supports, and grows a high-performing team of HR professionals in an inclusive and highly engaging environment.
Oversees and assists with the creation of content for employee and contractor communications, as necessary working with 3rd party vendors to ensure applicable
Leads the design and implementation of processes and solutions that are simple, scalable, and user-friendly.
Participates in the development and management of the Human Resources budget.
Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.

Minimum requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration/Management, Human Resources Management, Communication, Psychology, or a related discipline.
A minimum of ten (10) years direct work experience in a similar type of role may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
A minimum of seven (7) years direct and active work experience in Talent Acquisition, Training and Development or as a Human Resources Business Partner.
Management experience is required.
Knowledge and expertise in using advanced sourcing services like LinkedIn, Circa and Indeed.
Strong understanding of recruitment and hiring laws, processes, and terminology.
Strong facilitation skills both in-person and virtual delivery forums.
Familiarity with LMS systems, reporting tools and learning/development metrics.
Knowledge and awareness of employment laws/regulations.
Strong understanding of how corporate policies, procedures, practices, and processes relate to the HR function.
Experience working with multi-state employment laws.
Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but is not limited to Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
