Experience supporting HR strategies and goals for a multi-unit market of stores; delivering results through store teams and influencing district partners
Skills in recruiting, selecting, and talent management of non-exempt & exempt leaders in a market of stores
Ability to support store leaders and teams as well as district business leaders; coaching and developing them in growing the business and their team
Experience making decisions in complex and challenging situations
Skills in conflict and risk management
As a Human Resources Business Partner, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:
Drive your business to grow sales
In partnership with District Senior Director, determine district priorities and align the district team to deliver on financial and team goals.
Be a business owner- schedule time to plan, prioritize and adjust where necessary in order to support each store’s unique business, guest and team experiences.
Lead a continuous learning culture and validate the execution of training in collaboration with all store leaders
Understand the competitive landscape in order to react to market trends and adjust recruitment efforts. Teach store leaders how to write schedules that balance business priorities and best in class schedule stability for our team and validate that this comes to life.
Mitigate risk through careful and consistent application of policies and standards.
Support organizational and operational change by focusing on HR priorities, practices, and impact.
Cultivate a guest-centric sales force to drive sales and efficiency
Lead and create a service culture based on the GUEST service behavior standard that delivers a differentiated, safe and easy in-store experience. And prioritize service behavior standards in a way that informs operational excellence
Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias
Support the leadership team in ensuring equitable experiences, strengthening inclusion acumen, and promoting a culture of inclusivity and belonging that embraces the contributions of all team members
Stay balanced in how you plan and spend your time, assessing overall HR routines, external trends, & alignment to Stores Strategy.
Visit stores, focusing on validating depth of knowledge, guest-centric behaviors, stores’ staffing plans, scheduling routines, store culture, training application and communication routines; all in service of ensuring leaders are making decisions that support their teams.
Create and execute a district staffing strategy by leveraging competition insights and partnerships with Talent Acquisition, Employment Brand & store leaders in order to create a culture where we are always seeking best in class talent and strive to build diverse teams that serve the communities we live in.
Engage in meaningful conversations that are focused on team member development and ensuring we have the right expertise and skills at all levels.
Support leaders in assessing performance, identifying and addressing bias and making equitable pay decisions.
Proactively address potential concerns to create an environment where every team member wants to work.
Review reported concerns from the team in a prompt and thorough matter, while protecting confidentiality and taking appropriate partners along the way.
Model and use meaningful recognition to reinforce desired behaviors and drive team engagement.
Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance. Lead teams to work in the same way and hold others accountable to this commitment.
The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to be a Human Resources Business Partner but there are a few skills you should have from the get-go:
4-year degree or equivalent experience
3+ years of experience in employee relations, talent acquisition, organizational strategy or training and development
Proven execution skills and ability to drive change
Experience influencing key business partners
Operate in an ambiguous and rapidly changing work environment
Adapt to changing priorities and tasks quickly
Project and process management/ownership experience
Work in high intensity situations with composure and ease
Solution-based mindset with desire to uncover business gaps and solve problems
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Establish and maintain cross-functional working relationships
