The Enterprise Communications team builds confidence, pride and advocacy for Target, connecting and counseling companywide to move our $100-billion business forward. As a Sr Crisis Communications Manager for Government Affairs, you will:
Work hand-in-hand with Target’s Government Affairs team to track issues relevant to Target and develop internal and external communications strategies that shape our public policy narrative at the federal, state, and local level
Work in close partnership with Target’s PR agencies on research, benchmarking, communications planning, message development, monitoring and reporting.
Manage proactive and reactive media inquiries related to government and political issues and incidents and serve as a spokesperson for Target
Manage media hotline on-call responsibilities (with team) on evenings, weekends and holidays.

About You:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in government and/or on political campaigns
Minimum 8 years of professional communications experience
Ability to develop compelling communication strategies with clear and measurable goals
Expert media relations skills, with a high degree of comfort working with consumer and business press
Ability to coach and counsel senior leaders
Ability to collaborate with peers and influence without authority
Organized and able to balance multiple competing priorities on a daily basis
Team player and effective at collaborating with multiple internal stakeholders to drive results
Strong writer for various forms (i.e., email, media talking points)
A storytelling mindset with business acumen
Ability to work across multiple business units within a large, matrixed organization
Minimum qualifications should include experience found on a resume AND any soft/technical skills require for the role

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that’s not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.
Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $85,400 to $153,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
