Teach Iowa Hiring for K-12 Teacher, Media and Reading Specialist Job at Forest City, IA Full Time

To help each student obtain maximum benefit from the educational program by diversifying as fully as possible the kinds of educational materials used. To provide students and staff with a media-technology environment that will stimulate interest, invite research, and promote leisure interaction with technology.

To help ensure that all students are reading at grade level, this position will have a focus on PK-12th grade literacy efforts.

• Acts as team leader to coordinate, develop and monitor the K-12 media program.
• With the advice of those concerned, formulates overall policies for district-wide instructional media services.
• Holds regular meetings with the K-12 professional and support media staff.
• Periodically meets with each building principal.
• Promotes the use of media instructional materials throughout the district.
• Organizes the storage, cataloging and circulation of media materials for convenience, availability and effective use.
• Keeps administrators informed of the needs and services relating to the media program.
• Provides professional services throughout the day to students and staff.
• Acts as the resource person in matters concerning media equipment and materials and their use in the school instructional program.
• Trains teachers and assistants in the care and operation of media equipment.
• Coordinates with building principals the procurement of media materials and equipment, and submits the media budget.
