Staff Accountant

40 Hour – Mon-Fri 8a-4:30p
TEC is recruiting for a Staff Accountant to join a local non-profit. The Staff Accountant is responsible for the financial records and activities of the companies under contract with this client. The Staff Accountant is responsible for compliance with state and federal financial regulations as well as to assist in the financial matters of each properties managed portfolio.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Staff Accountant is required to properly record all financial transactions in a timely manner to accurately reflect the financial position of each entity; responsible for overseeing the preparation of all financial reports and records of such entities; assisting with budget preparations of entities under contract with this organization. This candidate will serve as the back-up for other team members within the Accounting Department.
Some specific responsibilities include:
Auditing
#1 Compile information required for auditors and assist and monitor audit performance completion.
#2 Update accounting systems and implement improvements suggested by the auditors.
#3 Perform internal audits for compliance with management input.
#4 Serve as a point of contact with auditors for all entities under contract and ensure that all audits are completed within the federal and state tax required time frames.
Budgeting
#1 Assist in budget preparation for all entities in conjunction with the CFO, COO, and President.
#2 Assist the Property Managers in preparation and analysis of budgets on either a monthly or per diem basis.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
#1 Prepare/monitor completion of financial statements monthly for all entities.
#2 Prepare all financial reports and correspondence for/to project owners and agencies per management agreements.
#3 Prepare any financial information required by other staff members.
#4 Prepare various financial analysis as requested by the CFO, COO, and President.
#5 Keep current schedule of all entity accounts, where located, type of account and yield.
#6 Cross train with each member of the Accounting Department and stay up to date on PP’s.
#7 Other duties may be required.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree
· Three of more years of Accounting Experience
· Mut be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Experience with Yardi and RESMAN software is a plus
· High attention to detail and accuracy
· Exceptional organizational skills including multi-tasking, prioritization, and meeting high priority deadlines
