This role will be onsite at our City of Industry Plant in California
Monthly travel to our Sparks, NV plant will be required

The Human Resources Generalist provides expertise, support and guidance to employees and supervisors in a diverse range of HR specialties including; employee relations, performance management, policy implementation, onboarding, recruitment, payroll, safety, training, employment law compliance and benefits. The HR Generalist is expected to proactively partner with the business to understand critical business priorities and HR implications. This position reports to and works closely with the Sr. HR Manager for our City of Industry and Sparks locations and while this role is based out in City of Industry it will provide support to both sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Administers various human resource plans and procedures across both sites; assists in the implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Partners with management and employees to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and various other complaints.
Supports the performance management process with leaders
Processing of payroll and monitoring time and attendance for both COI and Sparks locations.
Performs benefits administration to include communicating benefit information to all employees.
Conducts recruitment effort for nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; writes and places advertisements; reviews applications; and interviews, screens and recruits job applicants to fill entry-level and technical job openings at both locations.
Conducts new-employee orientations utilizing the corporate onboarding program.
Partners with Senior HR Manager with employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
Facilitates or provides training to the workforce.
Active participant in the corporate Safety Program.
Partners with Senior HR manager and the EHS Department in all aspects of Workers Compensation – filing the claim; coordinating Work Comp benefits; investigating incidents and documentation
Responsible for the maintenance of all HR files and related records to meet both company and legal needs
Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A college degree in related field and three to five years’ human resources experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Previously experience in a manufacturing or operations environment required.
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must have strong technical skills and previous experience with payroll or human resources information systems (HRIS) a strong plus.
Ability to be proactive, responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization.
Ability to travel to the Sparks site as needed.
Be knowledgeable of general human resource concepts and legal requirements. Ability to exercise good judgment within defined practices and policies. Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a must.
