Summary
The HR Manager is responsible for partnering across multiple levels of leadership both within the Company and within the Corporate HR department in leading efforts related to employee reward & recognition, employee relations concerns and workplace investigations, and training & development initiatives. This role partners strategically with VP of HR to execute projects across various HR functions, serving as lead project manager for these initiatives. The HR Manager will partner with local leaders in multi-state locations through the United States to ensure compliance and reduce risk to the organization while promoting CBG as the employer of choice in our industry.
Essential Functions
- Partner with field management in resolving employee relations issues and leading the performance management processes including disciplinary actions up to and including termination, conducting workplace investigations and working with legal counsel as needed
- Partner with VP of HR in acquisition related projects pre- and post-close, including review of due diligence materials, onboarding newly acquired employees and delegating time sensitive HR related tasks to team members
- Create and deliver HR related training for field management, particularly new managers, in areas such as employee relations, compliance and best practices
- Partners with VP of HR and other managers on initiatives related to employee reward and recognition programs, companywide leadership development and conferences, and associate events
- Manage the company wide HR ticket system to ensure accuracy, efficiency and timeliness in team responses
- Manage performance review process including manager training, reviewing timeline for execution and reviewing merit increases
- Partners with other HR Managers on employment decisions related to worker’s compensation and other leaves of absences
- Partner strategically with other HR functional leaders around payroll, benefits and talent acquisition
- Develop team of HR Business Partners in multiple areas of HR including employee relations, benefits, payroll and recruiting
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- At least 5-7 years of HR leadership experience
- Experience in union environments and/or California state locations would be a plus
- Significant direct employee relations experience required
- Mergers & acquisition experience a plus
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
