Salary Range: $225,000 – $300,000 plus bonus
The Vice President of Marketing is responsible for setting the strategic direction for and executing all marketing, branding, brand management, social media marketing and advertising for the organization and its affiliates. The individual will work closely with senior leadership of the company to lead the internal marketing team and manage 3rd party relationships with marketing related vendors and advisors. Primary responsibilities include preparing and overseeing the execution of marketing plans, deciding and planning campaign goals, analysing the marketing of competitors, and setting the marketing budget.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the strategic direction, goals, and success benchmarks for the Marketing Department.
- Ensure the Marketing Department provides effective and cost-efficient marketing services to each business unit within The Durst Organization, with a particular focus on the commercial and residential leasing teams.
- Design innovative and measurable marketing campaigns focused on KPIs/ ROI.
- Craft and execute strategic marketing & communications programs that reflect the overall Durst Organization brand which are cost-effective and reach the target audience. This includes but not limited to media buying, advertising, billboard and elevator cab digital screen activations, social media, and intranet communications for the commercial, residential, and corporate business needs.
- Keep up to date on the latest marketing trends.
- Track cross-channel attributions to accelerate conversions.
- Partner with Public Affairs Department to solidify brand reputation and increase the success of product launches.
- Establish an engaging business presence online that drives awareness and helps in reaching business goals.
- Create exceptional marketing copy to support business objectives.
- Manage and mentor a skilled and productive marketing team.
- Actively manage an Events team to deliver superior, on-brand experiential marketing activities that support commercial, residential, and corporate business needs (i.e., help to attract and retain talent; attract and retain customers).
- Lead strategy and implementation of marketing partnerships and opportunities for event and press activations that align with the Durst Organization and the sub-brand(s)/affiliates, including but not limited to events and programs that amplify the Durst brands and help to attract and retain customers.
- Utilize and leverage existing assets in creating new collateral (print and online).
- Ensure marketing materials are well-organized and staff are regularly trained on how/ where best to utilize Durst marketing tools.
- Ensure consistency of the brand, narrative, and visual identity across all graphic and digital formats.
- Generate and manage the marketing budget.
Qualifications:
- At least 10+ years of demonstrated impact in marketing roles, with experience in real estate or a related industry preferred
- First-hand experience establishing strategic direction and developing multi-channel communication programs which include advertising, intranet and website, social media, etc.
- Experience in implementing cross-channel marketing strategies
- Strong eye for aesthetics and overall creative sensibility
- Critical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of market research
- Team player with good time-management skills
- Outstanding influencing and interpersonal skills and a track record of working effectively and forming peer-level relationships with senior members of an organization
- Flexibility and the ability to manage conflicting demands and multiple channels of communication, as well as a sense of humour and a positive ‘can do’ attitude
- Ability to motivate the team to deliver high ROI results
- Ability to handle multiple projects within a timeline
- Self-motivated, with an appetite for working entrepreneurially in an environment with little imposed structure
- Sensitive to interpersonal relationships in a family- owned company
- Initiative taking but able to generate buy-in for critical decisions
- Non-bureaucratic thinker who will take on whatever role is required to accomplish a common goal
- Academic credentials should include an undergraduate degree in a related field and evidence of intellectual curiosity as demonstrated by an advanced degree or other professional training
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Indesign a plus. Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
- BA/BS required, MBA a plus
