A&L Foods, in Baltimore Maryland, has a full-time opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist. As HR Generalist you are the primary resource for managers and staff; you provide a broad range of HR services and ensure the efficient and seamless administration of all HR activities. You will be a key player in building and developing our HR department.
You will have the opportunity to:
Proactively lead the recruitment, selection and hiring processes to hire the most qualified individuals in a timely manner. Works with the hiring manager to identify ideal candidate qualities. Keeps hiring manager informed of recruiting progress.
Conducts new employee first day orientations, to include employment policies, completion of all paperwork, including I-9.
Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and FMLA, and ensure company compliance with federal and state regulations.
Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns. Advises and coaches managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee grievances. Recommends further training as needed.
Prepare or maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions. Maintains confidentiality of human resource information/data.
Oversee the performance review process and provide counsel to both employees and management on performance improvement plans.
Recommend, evaluate, and participate in staff development opportunities.
Administers employee benefit programs, as well as leaves of absence and FMLA
Other duties as directed by management.
What You Need:
3 to 5 years’ experience as an HR Generalist, in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration and legal compliance.
Bachelor’s degree and/or SRHM Certification preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated problem solving ability, resourcefulness, and optimism.
Demonstrated people skills.
