The Hydration Room is currently looking for a qualified and resourceful HR Manager to ensure smooth and efficient business operations. We are a early state growing company with 15+ retail locations and > 100 employees. The HR Manager will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping us to plan and administer important functions, such as staffing, training and development, and compensation and benefits.
This will be our first Human Resources employee – so the candidate will have to be comfortable leading all HR efforts on their own, while looking at possibly building a small team over time.
This is both a tactical and strategic role. Your role as an HR Manager will be far from one-dimensional. You’ll undertake a wide range of HR tasks, like interviewing and onboarding, organizing trainings, administering employee benefits and crafting HR policies, organizing us from an HR systems perspective, and being a part of strategic business planning. You will use Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. And you’ll also act as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics. The goal is to ensure the HR department’s operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization as a whole.
Responsibilities of the HR Manager
o Assist with all internal and external HR-related matters.
o Handle employee relations and issues and provide coaching and counseling to resolve conflict while advising management on best employee relation practices
o Participate in developing organizational procedures. Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization and improve employee experience.
o Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart
o Recommend strategies to motivate and keep employees and reduce turnover.
o Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, interviewing, conducting reference checks and issuing employment contracts.
o Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, training, and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance
o Investigate and address complaints brought forward by employees.
o Coordinate employee development plans and performance management.
o Partner with team to develop a best in class employee training and onboarding process
o Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
o Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to all employee-relations matters.
Requirements of the HR Manager
o 7+ years experience in a broad array of HR functions
o Experience working in an early stage, face paced growth business with a small team
o Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field
o Efficient HR administration and people management skills.
o Excellent record-keeping skills.
o Fantastic knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
o Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
o Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office, G Suite and related HR software.
o Remarkable organizational and conflict management skills.
o Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
o Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
o Ability to work in a face paced environment, independently and self sufficiently on assigned duties
