POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Manager performs multiple duties for the plant focused on the management, implementation, and communication of HR functional programs. Reviews and interprets people and organizational information and provides consult, advice and support to plant managers and leaders. Maintain the utmost confidentiality in dealing with employee records and business information. Ensure that deliverables meet or exceed individual objectives, adhere to goals, and align with functional strategies. Functions as part of the leadership team.

Function as part of the leadership team to consult, advise and support plant leaders.
Reviews and interprets people and organizational information for the site and provides advice and support to plant managers and leaders regarding challenges, opportunities, or issues.
Acts as the on-site HR support for day-to-day HR activities for a single plant, but may “flow to the work” as demand rises/falls within that region.
Leverage specialized knowledge about the unique plant’s practices, business needs, people, and procedures to execute HR tasks.
Support the functional strategy by assisting Plant Managers and plant leaders in designing programs, policies, and practices to attract, retain, and/or engage talent in alignment with the business strategy.
Perform all recruiting activities for technical and hourly employees including sourcing, screening, interviewing, etc.
Handle site-specific and sensitive employee and labor relation issues with employees at the plant, leveraging the Center of Excellence for consultation and practices/policies/templates.
Will perform day-do-day activities related to the organizational pillar of the Smucker Quality Management System (“SQMS”)
Will perform tasks to support local site operations such as coordinating community relations or employee appreciation events, issuing badges, or managing other site activities (e.g., donations or giveaways, visitor coordination, plant uniforms, lockers, mailboxes, communications.
Draft functional communication materials and trainings for Operations/Plant HR review and approval.
Handle casework escalated from HR SSC or the external provider as appropriate where local expertise, analysis, sensitivity, and business impact are critical factors.
Maintain all compliance requirements. Analyze and correct errors and ensure proper quality controls are in place to avoid future errors.
Support Regional HR Manager or Plant Operations with the execution of compliance programs, internal audits, external audits, and government audits.
May assist management in adhering to business objectives and costs by providing data, input, review, analysis, modeling, or other information and support.
Work with the HR SSC team to review and assist with the ongoing development, evaluation, and maintenance of documentation (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions) to ensure complete, accurate, and up-to-date depiction of processes.

Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred in Management, HR Management or related field.
At least 7 or more years HR functional experience required (e.g., organizational design and capabilities, employee and labor relations, staffing, compensation, benefits, learning, employee data. etc.).
Management experience strongly preferred.
Experience working at a manufacturing site.
Demonstrate a competent understanding of HR processes, procedures, controls, regulations, and compliance requirements for at least one functional area. Basic familiarity with at least one other area desirable.
Experience with an ERP system (Workday preferred).
Experience with Microsoft tools and applications required.
Experience in a shared service center environment preferred.
Working knowledge of enabling technologies (e.g., case management, manager self-service) and how they work within a customer service business environment.
Analytical and problem solving skills required. Attention to detail a must.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate with customers, peers, and vendors.
A sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution and an ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity to compliance-related matters.
Ability to influence others, identifies problems, and recommends a course of action.
Demonstrate ability to handle ambiguity and fluid situations, demonstrating a pragmatic approach.
Proficient interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully work with internal stakeholders and colleagues to contribute ideas, identify opportunities, and contribute to positive outcomes.
Knowledge of standard business practices and professionalism in a customer service environment are essential.
Demonstrate ability to disseminate knowledge and techniques. Experience providing feedback to help others understand the rationale of desired outcomes and standards.
