Our private holding company is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to join us on the ground floor as we build out our portfolio of companies. (the holding company currently owns two companies with a third acquisition closing soon!)
This role will not be your standard HR role. It will shift dramatically over time from a “start-up feel” to a more structured, process-oriented role overseeing a team of people.
The holding company’s Managing Partners are looking for someone that will be adaptable enough to evolve along with the portfolio and provide meaningful insight based on the person’s past professional experiences. Neither of the Partners have HR experience, so it will be essential for the person in this role to bring value Day 1.
This role has maximum exposure to executive leadership and reports directly to the Managing Partner’s.
Here are some examples of what they might task this role with Day 1:
– We need a cost-effective process for hiring. How can we achieve that?
– We need to properly on-board new hires with limited tech ability across all our portfolio companies in remote locations. How do we solve for that?
– We need to understand the cost and value-add of a variety of benefits to make us more competitive in the marketplace. Let us know when you have the math worked out.
– What are our competitors paying for a certain role? What are your suggestions for our comp strategy given that data?
– What were some of the key drivers to this week’s payroll increase over last week?
The right candidate will be able to accomplish the above by drawing upon these specific professional experiences:
· Proven history of creating data-driven compensation strategies
· 1-2 years (min.) in a recruiting/hiring role
· 3-5 years (min.) developing and implementing effective HR policies
· 3-5 years (min.) managing employee payroll and compensation
· 3-5 years (min.) overseeing general employee hiring, performance reviews and terminations
This role is hybrid work from home and will also requires occasional travel to various HQ’s of the portfolio companies and “field sites” (outdoor equipment/vehicle yards, factories, etc).
