SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE (STD) SECTION

This is a highly independent position in the STD Section responsible for planning and directing activities related to statewide STD program quality assurance and STD/HIV case analysis activities. The position is also responsible to meet the training needs of the statewide STD field operations work force.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance (QA):
maternal and congenital STD case reports and provides direction to Area STD Programs to ensure completeness of reports, and to ensure all reasonable investigative actions were taken to maximize disease intervention outcomes.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Experience in conducting quality assurance reviews of confidential client case information and communicable disease program operations.
2. Experience using confidential data management applications (e HARS, STARS, Merlin, HMS) lo conduct case reviews, provide feedback lo case managers, analyze aggregate data.
3. Experience preparing technical reports and correspondence to include data analysis, Identifying program deficiencies and developing realistic and actionable recommendations for improvement.
4. Experience working in communicable disease prevention program{s) in a professional/technical support capacity.
5. Knowledge of the etiology, laboratory interpretation, treatment recommendations and applied epidemiologic principles to prevent HIV, STDs, hepatitis.
6. Experience in the development and delivery of training materials and/or public speaking.
