Job Summary: Performs advanced professional accounting activities for a specialized, complex assignment or functional area requiring application of an advanced professional knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Ensures or evaluates compliance and accountability of financial programs and business operations/processes. May supervise or lead lower level professional accountants and other staff.
Additional Department Summary: The position will perform financial reviews of accounting practices and internal controls for several areas within and supported by F&O Shared Administrative Services. The incumbent must have general knowledge of accounting standards as it relates to governmental accounting. The incumbent must demonstrate ability to conduct research as necessary and obtain an understanding of appropriate federal, state and local regulations that apply to operational areas including capital projects.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and three (3) years of professional accounting experience; OR a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business and two (2) years of professional accounting experience; OR CPA and two (2) years of professional accounting experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver’s license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.
Preferred Qualifications: CPA certificate preferred.
