An opportunity exists for an ambitious Staff Accountant II in our Allentown, PA location.

What will you do?

• Perform monthly financial close activities including prepare journal entries, update and maintenance of the General Ledger
• Evaluate journal entries for completeness and accuracy
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, including general ledger accounts and sub ledger accounts
• Perform variance analysis for current-to-prior month/quarter/year fluctuations, research and correct account discrepancies
• Drive continuous improvement and uses systems to increase controls and efficiencies
• Ensure compliance with Thermo Fisher Policies and Procedures
• Participation and utilization of PPI methodology
• Perform special projects and ad-hoc reporting as required
• Perform other accounting duties as assigned by management

How will you get here?

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Requires 2+ years of related accounting experience
• Proficient in MS Excel
• Highly motivated and meticulous individual with excellent communication, computer and organizational skills
• Consistent track record of accurate and timely financial accounting
• Ability to work independently, prioritize and follow through in a fast-paced, multitask environment
• Experience with SAP and Blackline is a plus
