A proven history of driving collaboration and teamwork are more important to us that a specific sales or scientific background. Our team will do meaningful work that makes a positive impact on a global scale. The work will be ambitious, fast-paced, and require a customer-centric focus.

Our mission is to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. Our group provides solutions for scientists who need to analyze cell images quickly and quantitatively. The Cell Insight CX5, CX7, and CX7 LZR fill that need and drives our mission. You’ll need to build, nurture, and be a phenomenal partner to our customers while driving Capital Equipment-focused sales activities. This position will require around 50% travel to build and maintain those relationships.

The HCS group is part of the Protein & Cell Analysis business unit and your peers focus on Flow Cytometers, Cell Sorters, Microscopes, Plate Readers, Gel or Blotting Instruments, and Imagers. Together, we find customers that need our solutions and make sure they are supported.

To succeed at Thermo Fisher we need a positive demeanor and strong desire to put the good of the customer first. A successful capital equipment sales specialist is able to balance many different opportunities in various parts of the sales cycle, moving all of them forward in a timely manner. It’s important to understand our customer’s research and development processes, but also the larger issues that affect their success. Our success depends on understanding their critical business initiatives, R&D organizational structure, new technology evaluation and implementation processes, and capital funding workflow.
Behind the scenes, sales professionals maintain a tight sales funnel for the larger organization and coordinate both internal and external sales activities. With a sales cycle lasting several weeks to several years, it is important that our partners in manufacturing, marketing, and product management have accurate updates provided through Salesforce.com. Sales activities include technical presentations, hands-on demonstrations, remote support, vendor shows, and providing Voice of Sales feedback to R&D, marketing, and the larger team.
