Assists unit leadership in understanding and communication of HR policies and procedures, and handling compliance issues.
Responsibilities:
Consult with operations management on human resource issues as it relates to compensation, training and development, disciplinary actions and terminations
Work in partnership with managers on performance management, employee relations, resourcing and staff management/development
Provide expert consultation to managers on performance management including managing and tracking performance management actions
Work with managers to address employee issues and assist with performance management
Assist with the understanding and processing of Human Resource policies and procedures
Respond to routine HR inquiries
Responsible for maintaining employee files and conducting annual audits of HR policies and procedures
Reviews tuition reimbursement request and submits for approval
Responsible for setting up users with HR vendors
Enter new hire data and employee life cycle changes into the HRIS and time-tracking system
Review and reconcile invoices received for HR and remit for approval
Maintain and update all required forms dealing with but not limited to employment & wage verifications, unemployment claims, and subpoenas
Point of contact for Corporate and Business HR communication
Maintains confidentiality of all information
Assist with day-to-day HR operations
Assists with compliance, regulatory HR, Benefits and Payroll issues
Coordinates various HR processes and procedures
Qualifications:
Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required.
Education, Licensing, and Certifications Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred
Experience:
2 to 4 years of relevant human resource experience, including recruiting, selection, and employee relations, required
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Understanding of employment laws and regulations
Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to read, understand, and interpret instructions, policies, and procedures
Strong written and oral communication skills; strong presentation skills
HRIS, ADP, and investigative experience preferred
Travel requirement (as a percent): Frequent travel to meet the needs of the business
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Must submit to drug testing and a background check
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities
Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.
The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
