TRC’s client, a luxury Life Plan Community, is seeking an AR Billing Specialist to join their team in Buckhead, Atlanta, GA!

Overview: Responsible for Medicare/Insurance billing/receivable functions of accounting department. Responsible for maintaining/updating resident data base, bill codes, rates, insurance information and backup Independent Living resident census. Performs all functions according to prescribed guidelines in a timely fashion to assure quality service to residents. Provides professional advice in specialty areas, making recommendations for best practices and performing analyses to help recommend appropriate business actions.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts receivable related to Medicare and insurance billing processes. Identify, research and correct errors in a timely manner.
• Research discrepancies with healthcare census as related to billing/Medicare issues.
• Responsible for processing Medicare and insurance claims accurately and timely, including but not limited to working closely with the MDS Coordinator, medical records, therapy and other departments.
• Insurance verification for Part B recipients and backup for Part A recipients.
• Must have working knowledge or Medicare rules and insurance filing procedures as it relates to health care billing.
• Update software with applicable Medicare rate changes and/or related bill codes (or work with software vendor to get updated as needed).
• Prepares required Medicare reports including credit reports and assists in the annual Medicare cost report.
• Verify accuracy of deposit tickets, identify payor type and input cash into MatrixCare via data entry or import from Medicare or various insurance carriers (currently Optum).
• Assist with month-end Close of the billing module.
• Assist with non-Medicare related A/R as needed.
• Maintain current resident billing information and update as necessary with necessary financial/insurance information.
• Communicating financial issues with residents and family members as needed.
• Adhere to accounting practices to ensure that resident information is maintained in accordance with current federal and state regulations and guidelines.
• Keep up-to-date with billing software, Medicare and insurance billing changes and requests training as needed.
• Must be able to work overtime if required.
• Complete various projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
• A minimum of three years’ related Medicare experience.
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination required.
