Position Location: East Mesa/Admin Office (Power & Main)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performing HR related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR Manager is supporting the organization. The positions carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, employment law compliance, and payroll processing. This position also serves as back up resource to the recruitment function.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
Conducts new employee orientation and leads onboarding activities.
Coaches, counsels and guides manager before executing employee disciplinary actions. Handles employee relations counseling, exit interviewing, and terminations.
Maintains HR information system records and complies reports from the database. Ensures I9 employment eligibility.
Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner. Updates, monitors and maintains eligible salary adjustments/increases. Works with outside vendor to manage pay ranges. Creates and manages job descriptions.
Responsible for determining eligibility for leaves of absence including FMLA eligibility, meeting with staff to complete FMLA paperwork, tracking time taken and track any benefit payments to be made while employee is out on leave. Monitors employee eligibility for benefit plans. Manages COBRA. Reconciles benefit enrollments with vendors. Assists in managing open enrollment.
Process, monitor and complete workers compensation claims. Process and complete unemployment claims. Complete yearly OSHA and EEO reports.
Handle the disbursement of rewards for the employee recognition program, order gift cards, track and record disbursements on a quarterly spreadsheet. Manage the employee satisfaction survey rollout.
Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed. Complete special projects by clarifying project objectives, setting timetables and schedules, conducting research, developing and organizing information.
Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
Provides support for the recruitment functions during high volume seasons.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor degree in human resources or related field experience required.
Four years of experience in the human resources field.
Basic working knowledge of how to prepare account reconciliations.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point and Outlook.
Experience with HRIS systems.
40 wpm typing
Demonstrated critical thinking ability in order to resolve problems and carry out instructions.
Ability to multi task, be self-motivated, well organized and able to work in a highly energized team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in an effective, clear, calm, friendly and professional manner. Demonstrates a high sense of urgency at all times.
Ability to read and interpret documents.
Exceptional organization skills.
Knowledge of basic computer and math skills.
Strong level of influence and negotiation skills.
Able to work alone on a broad variety of projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with Paycom system preferred.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or PHR preferred.
