About the Role
New Verticals is a fast-growing startup within Uber that enables consumers to get just about anything delivered through the Uber Eats app or UberEats.com. As a Merchant Operations Manager, you will contribute to our merchant performance and growth efforts across grocery, convenience, and alcohol, ensuring a reliable experience for customers.
You will build and execute data-driven strategies and processes that will drive the growth and efficiency of the business. You will work cross-functionally with other teams (i.e. Support, Product, Legal, Fraud) to lead high impact initiatives that can scale our merchant base across the US & Canada while offering ownership and autonomy over your work as we exponentially grow this new arm of the Uber Eats business.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze sophisticated data and aggregate insights to drive key business decisions and policies
- Proactively scope insights-driven projects to help grow our merchant base; take accountability for project outcomes, ensure delivery on project critical metrics, & keep others informed of progress
- Coordinate with the Product and Support teams to prioritize and iterate on new tech features and business standards that improve the merchant experience
- Experiment and scale with initiatives to improve business operations and profitability
- Define critical metrics and develop dashboards to track business performance; report findings to senior leadership to define long-term strategy and decision-making
- Develop tools and training to enable commercial teams to optimize our most valuable partnerships
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of professional work experience in a related field (consulting, operations, strategy, analytics, tech, investment banking)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Excel/Google Sheets proficiency. SQL proficiency preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
- Experience problem solving and proposing unique solutions to complex issues
- Strong experience building and executing complex processes
- Proven ability to balance multiple critical tasks and consistently delivering against hard deadlines
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting data & insights to a sophisticated audience
- Experience with quantitative data analysis, deep measurable insights, modeling, and sophisticated test plan design and analysis
- Strong collaboration and partner management skills – building deep, trust-based relationships with territory and cross functional teams
- Unparalleled business judgment and critical thinking skills with the ability to use data to quickly develop strategies and make decisions
