The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a full-time -Manager to join the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center and the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience. You will be responsible for all HR activities, pre-award activities, regulatory compliance coordination, and provide post-award administrative and research support. Primary duties include:
Qualifications
Minimum 3-years pre-award experience with NIH grant submissions
Familiarity with medical terminology
Excellent skills in writing and editing competitive research proposals for funding agencies, including structuring of large documents
Knowledge of external funding processes, including funding agency guidelines and objectives, grant proposal creation and submission
Skilled in cultivating relationships with program officers at agencies as a liaison to support faculty and gain perspective on funding trends
Ability to interpret and effectively communicate Department, University and Sponsor guidelines and policies for different end-users
Skilled in program planning and management of projects, and document production
Excellent skills in data analytics and visualization
Experience in developing, monitoring, and implementing office systems and procedures to ensure smooth and effective operations
Demonstrate skill in financial analysis to monitor and project fiscal performance, to develop and manage complex budgets and to prepare and explain financial reports.
Ability to write reports, guidelines and procedures, using extensive software tools
Expertise in Macintosh OSX computer system, and a strong ability to learn new software
Demonstrated experience with microcomputer software including word processing (Word), reference management (Endnote), and spreadsheets (Excel).
Familiarity with computer graphics software (e.g. PowerPoint, NIH Image, Canvas, Photoshop.)
