As a member of the UCLA Individual Giving’s leadership team, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of a comprehensive plan for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding prospects and donors with an emphasis on Chancellor’s Society Cabinet donors at the level of $10,000 and above. You will also develop, manage, and enhance all programmatic and operational needs of the UCLA Chancellor’s Society program. You will grow and manage a team of frontline leadership annual giving development officers and stewardship staff and will set, strategize and plan annual fund goals and benchmarks. You will lead the team in managing all annual and special gift initiatives and projects. Working closely with the central Annual and Regional Giving teams, you will guide and grow the leadership giving and loyalty societies to achieve fundraising goals. You will work closely with the Regional Giving team to manage all Chancellor’s Society Regional Volunteer Committees, direct all fundraising and stewardship activities and manage staff and administrative functions to ensure development goals are met. You will also oversee the Cabinet Council and staff the leadership volunteers. This position represents an opportunity to build upon and strengthen a long-standing and successful annual leadership program and to prepare UCLA Development for future campaigns.

Required/Preferred
1. Minimum of three to five years of experience in a fundraising environment with a preference on annual giving and/or prior experience in a related field such as sales, marketing or business development.

2. Working knowledge of the principles and practices of development at a major research university or institution of equivalent complexity with emphasis on annual giving techniques and the effective use of broad-based volunteer structures.

3. Progressively responsible experience and/or ability to design, implement and manage a fundraising or comparable program to include experience and/or ability to motivate and guide staff to meet goals.

4. Proven skills in developing sophisticated strategies in planning, implementing and administering annual and/or special gift solicitations or other solicitations of a similar nature, level and complexity.

5. Prior experience and success in gifts solicited and closed in the annual and/or special gifts range and/or solicitations of a similar nature, level and complexity.

6. Strong ability to recruit, orient, train, organize, motivate and evaluate staff and volunteers who support development goals and programs.

7. Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to manage volunteer committees for the Chancellor’s Society and to work collaboratively with a wide variety of internal and external constituents towards the accomplishment of fundraising goals.

8. Ability to establish priorities, manage multiple tasks and multi-phase projects simultaneously from inception to completion and complete work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.

9. Ability to communicate persuasively, both orally and in writing, about UCLA’s fundraising goals and the specific priorities of the UCLA Chancellor’s Society; equal ability to listen perceptively and convey sensitivity and awareness.

10. Excellent writing skills, with the ability to produce business correspondence, solicitation materials, appropriate letters of acknowledgement, proposals to individuals, corporations and foundations, reports and other pertinent written communications.

11. Impeccable integrity and discretion in dealing with donors, alumni, students, administrators and colleagues as well as confidential information.

12. Experience conceptualizing, planning and implementing special events.

13. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite of applications is required as is familiarity with other applications, programs and databases as needed with a willingness to learn new technologies.
